The customer supplied the AICS with a cut out in the skins and supplied the blocks as a solid piece of aluminum. I then drilled and tapped the inside and secured it to the stock internally so you cant see any hardware on the side. But before that, I machined it to fit this action and then painted it off the stock and then secured it.

Nice build!

One question, did you have to "true" the Badger action in any way? I know it is a custom and they shouldn't require it and I have read the threads fighting about it but just curious about if you had to do any work to it or just thread/chamber/headspace the barrel and go?

Thanks!

Looks good could you show more of the crown it looks to be deep but yet it has is shown with a suppressor or is that just the threader protector.

If you click on the JOB REPORT LINK it will show more pictures of the crown before it was finished. I just did a nice heavy recessed crown.

Funny you asked, I actually made up some bushings and indicated this action into my lathe in my blueprinting fixture just to see. The problem is I'm not Dave Kiff. I made some pretty nice fitting bushings, but they did not fit as nicely as the PTG bushings I use for other actions. They were about as loose as using the wrong bushings when indicating in an action or barrel in the lathe, so I did not want to trust my readings. Every Badger I have build have ended up being shooters, so I think they are going to be ok. It would be interesting to actually see though.

Re: New Badger M2008 Build by Short Action Customs,LLC

I am the customer who will be getting this one. I look forward to getting it in but I wont be able to shoot it for a few weeks.....gonna drive me crazy. It will be getting my USO SN3 when it arrives. Mark clearly put a lot of thought into mounting the action to the stock. It looks better executed than any I have seen yet. It defiantly has that bit extra touch which was why I chose Short Action Customs.

If you don't mind, what scope rail is that? I like the solid full length rails...

The rail is by Badger, it comes standard on the M2008. I have only had the opportunity to shoot it a few times, havent even sighted it in yet. Just dont have time.
