I have a remington 700 in 7mm08 that I would like to replace the barrel. This is a stock hunting rifle with a 20" barrel. What are the best options to get a good accurate(1" or less @ 100 yards) sporter weight 20" barrel. Winter is here in Alaska and time to get my gun projects done.

Thanks
Greg

Re: New barrel for 7mm08

Is there anything wrong with the barrel you have on it? Or are you just wanting a project and the potential for a better barrel?
I leave barrel brand up to customers, and when they want top of the line I start telling them to check out Krieger, Bartlein and Brux. For a good button barrel, on a hunting rifle with requirements like you are speaking of I tend to steer them to ER Shaw. When it comes to a great hunting barrel that has good to great accuracy potential especially for a hunting rifle that has lost it's edge, they work well and are completely affordable.
Montana Rifleman also makes an excellent hunting barrel, I just bought some blanks and an AR barrel from them and they are spot on.
