I just got my rifle back from Chad over at Long Rifles that was rebarreled and action trued up its a Rem 700 with a new Bartlein 6.5 1:8 twist sendero contour chambered in 6.5 Creedmore and APA Little Bastard brake. I am gonna take it out for the first time tomorrow and after endless reading on the barrel break in and my own experience with my last barrel I have no intention to do any break in procedure. But is there anything else I need to know or do with a new barrel or trued action? Or can i just go shoot like I did when I bought It? I apologize for the stupid question but this is my first go around with a non factory rifle with high quality components.
Thanks

once chambered, clean it before heading to the range to make sure there is no metal shavings or oil left in it then go shoot the damn thing and have fun with it.
cheers.

FM,

Clean it. Load up a test set of 20-30 rounds in 0.5gr. increments progressing up to your nominal load. Shoot them, noting the best group. Go home, and clean it. Repeat with best load in 0.2gr. or 0.1gr. increments.

Proceed to figure out how to chase the lands, etc. Lots of posts available on these advanced topics.

I clean the rifle before taking to the range for the first time, just to be sure it is free of an foreign matter, oil, etc. I clean every 200 rounds or so afterwards, but you could definitely go less frequent.
