New Build on a AICS Chassis that is sized for a Remington 700 Short Action

yes, thank you for your response.

I know I can get a custom action, but I was hoping to buy a rifle off the shelf and was wondering if:
Howa, Tikka, Browning or any other common rifles shared the same SA pattern.

I have an old AICS like yours that I keep a Rem700 action that I had blue printed a long time ago.
The AICS still feels like home but it's definitely dated and lacks the ergonomic fit features of my XLR chassis.
Have a look at the XLR element 3.0, and KRG X-Ray....they are hell of a lot less expensive than your AICS was/is new and are available in many different action fitment options.

Yeah, I took out my Rem action and dropped it into a lighter stock (Magpul Hunter)

I didn't need a 15lb .308. Now I'm looking to use the weight of that AICS for the max caliber that I can get in there. I think the 6.5 PRC might be it. of course I cannot get one in a Remington.

I'll look at the chassis that you mentioned. Thanks

I'd take a look at the Bergara options in 6.5 PRC if you're wanting to buy a factory rifle and swap out the stock to your existing chassis. Bergara actions follow the R700 pattern.
