[Shoots 700's]

I have an old Remington BDL 7mm Remington Mag that I want to use in a new build.

I really want a 300wsm but being that I have a long action should I just have the action rebarreled in another 7mm.

I want to go with a Bartlien 26" #6 Heavy target, tru the bolt face and lap lugs. It will be going into a McMillian A-5.

Any thoughts on this build?

I have a 300wsm on the long action --- enables longer seating and higher velocities with the 208 AMAX. Comes real close to 3000fps and very close to the 7wsm ballistics. Go for it.

The Army's M-24 is a 7.62x51 and is a long action, go for it!

I'd personally stay with a 7mm bases cartridge.

But then again, I am slightly bias.
