I finally shot out my factory Colt 1:7 after what seems like a million rounds. I need a suggestion for a new barrel I want to stay that carbine profile and length really, anybody have experience with a good replacement?

Forget carbine length gas!!!

Noveske has some really excellent hammer forged, double chrome lined barrels made to their specs by F-N. You can get a 13.7" medium profile plus 14.5" in two different profiles (light and medium), all with mid-length gas system. Of course, pinning and welding a muzzle device in place will be required to give you 16+".

If you don't feel like doing the pin and weld, they also offer a medium contour 16" HFCL with mid-length gas system.

I run dead air key mounts, how do you go about pinning and welding just take it to a gun smith?
