Just wanted to say hey and introduce myself. my name is jb, I am from Arkansas and I'm just starting to get a little more serious about reaching out beyond 500 and looking for a grand.. and at the same time i would like to ask a newbie question.. I just built a budget rifle and cannot complain about the setup.. half moa out of the box. My question is this hogue stock makes me cringe at the flex it has while the bipod is deployed.. my first thoughts where to immediately scrap it.. but at the same time if it really was an issue would it not be shooting more like 1 moa or worse? How big of a rush in y'alls opinion would it be to to change out this stock? Thanks for reading.

Lot's of good options out there. Manners, McMillan, J Allen, Foundation, MDT, XLR, hell even the MagPul offerings...

Only one of those I have direct experience with is Manners - myself and two friends of mine run the EH-1 and have had good luck with it. None of the options above are what you could consider "cheap", but a stock/bottom metal isn't somewhere you want to pinch pennies.

The bright side of the 700 is that a lot of the custom actions out there (Surgeon, Defiance, Bighorn, etc.) all share the same footprint, some with maybe slight modification. Invest in a good stock now and it can follow you around for when/if you decide to upgrade.

Malvern, Arkadelphia, and Hot Springs are close together and are southwest of Little Rock. Malvern and Arkadelphia are right off of I-30. Malvern is about 45 minutes from LR going west on I-30. Arkadelphia is another 20 minutes past Malvern, if I recall.

I haven't been back to Malvern in some 15 years, I think. I visited El Dorado when a friend was living there some 30 years ago.... not much there back then!
