Hi there everyone. I'm a relatively new shooter south of Austin, TX. Excited to see what I can learn on here. Bought my first rifle about a year ago. So far I've mostly shot benchrest and prone on my local range (50-200yrd). Everything on my setup but the scope/rings has been bought used and so far I've had great success learning and growing my abilities. Hoping to also meet new people in my area and also find some new places to shoot. My current/only setup: R700 VTR .308, Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6x24 FFP/EBR-2C, Triggertech Special @ 2lbs, MPA BA chassis. Also have a knock-off Atlas which I've tooled to be basically solid (leveled, removed cant/pan). C

    Hi,

Whatever you do...do NOT venture into the Bear Pit area of the forum yet.
    It is dangerous to newcomers....

    Edited To Add:
ESPECIALLY since you have publicly stated you have a knock off Atlas Bipod......Bear Pit is not safe for you yet ?.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

The bear pit is for experienced season hidsters who have no quibbles about interacting with one another in a rather sarcastic manner designed to bring down their fellow hidsters a notch or two...or at least this is the most efficient use of ones' time...:D

Careful if you ever run into a guy from the Houston area toting 2 55gal drums full of 13k rds of 556, one on each shoulder.
His name is ArmyJerry and he rides fast motorcycles (dirt and track) and collects a ton of ammo.

He rides a ranch up near you just S of Bastrop and the speed track there in metro Austin I know.

Im from CO. Welcome to the Hide.
I have in-laws in Austin and thats where my better half is from.

?? I'll keep an eye out. Can't say I've ever heard of someone like that. Mostly old people and antifa hipsters round here lol.
