I'm new from Colorado as well, If you're looking for a great place to shoot I'd highly recommend the Pawnee National Grasslands. Tons of places you can shoot 1000m+. Just be sure to pack out any trash you bring in.
Welcome to the Hide, my friend! Well, I am on the Western Slope, but a little farther South in New Mexico. Taos to be precise. There are many fine shooters in Colorado, but most of the ones I know are near Denver. Good luck with your search for shooting buddies. In my short time as a Hide member, I have discovered that the community is an amazing resource for all things shooting, particularly precision shooting. Again, welcome.
