Hello all. Been shooting since the late 80's, mostly pistols and ar's, but never long range. Went with a buddy to a 600 yard range and played with his MPA some and found this is something I can really get into. Been doing a good bit of reading on this forum and really appreciate all the info posted.

Hey there. What kind of ranges you got in that part of the State? I have a 300 yard range close and found a 600 yard range in the Swansea area.

Not much up here. There is a DNR range in Pickens that goes to 100 and another in Spartanburg that goes to 200.

I'm a member at Elbert County Gun Club in Elberton GA. It's about a 90 minute drive for me. The rifle range goes out to 400 yards but they hold monthly members-only 600 & 1,000 yard matches off site. The 600 yard matches are at GunSite Hills in Lexington GA but they don't allow .338LM on their steel plates. I'm not sure where the 1,000 yard matches are held. I need to contact the match director and see where they are and whether I can bring my rifle.

Pawleys Island area. Backwoods Quail Club is about 30 minutes from me and they have a 300 yard range. Panteao Sportsman Club is in Swansea, SC, about 2.5 hours from me, and they have 600 yards. As far as I know neither have any matches.

Clinton House in Clinton SC has a 1,000 yard range and even non members can book range time. That isn't too much further than Swansea. Unfortunately, no .338LM on that range either. They do allow it on their 1 mile range but that range has very irregular times they are open.
