I took the plunge today for a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 mil dot. This is awesome glass and is comparable to my Leupold MK4 in clarity. Got it sighted in and paralax adjusted. I think I am going to like this scope. I put my 6500 back on the .260 and waiting on my 20 MOA rail for the TR and it will be ready for some long range plinking!!

Re: New Glass for the Savage

The Vortex specs state 68 MOA adjustment and the Mark 4 has 70 MOA. I have been running a Elite 6500 with 78 MOA on Weaver style two pc. bases and getting to 250 and still have plenty left. I should be able to get past 300 with out the 20 MOA rail.
I will let you all know soon.
