I'm about an hour south of Houston and avoid that place like the plague. Bass pro at 288 and the beltway is about as close as I like to get but hey, welcome to the Hide.

I used to be a member at greenwood gun club in brazoria, about 30 minutes from my house. Sadly it got over run with idiots and I found myself rarely using it anymore for anything but shooting 600 yards. After several years of not even going out there I just canceled my membership. I do miss the 600 yard range though.

I was going to try to get on with bayou riflesthis year, which is closer to Houston, but I think I missed the window. Good luck in your search.

Downside is longest range is 300 yds. But you can stand, lay prone, whatever floats your boat. The pistol bays are excellent. I’ve always been able to have my own bay. You can move and shoot at will, run your own drills, etc. I’m sure there is still a waitlist to get in.

They also have a dedicated ‘benchrest’ / slow fire range that goes out to 200 yds.
