Wally - I'm in Milford, MI. Windshield time is not a problem for me. I drive quite a bit for work, and fish the Great Lakes (Michigan, Erie and Ontario) frequently. Nice to meet you.

Welcome to the forum. You should have a pretty easy time finding places to shoot LR in Michigan as they are abundant! Do you have a rifle and equipment yet?!

I do, I went with a Barrett 98B and the great folks at Mile High Shooting helped me size out a Spuhr mount for a SWFA SS 5-20x50 scope.

South Kent, Washtenaw and Cadillac have 500+. Young's Long Shot in Indiana has 1000.

Also, there is Marksmanship Training Facility which is 1000 plus yards. I think it may go all the way out to 1300. It is located in Lake city.
