Hi all. Just got accepted to the forum earlier today. Been doing lots of research on here to improve my shooting over the years and always get pointed in this direction, so figured it was time to join. Thanks for the wealth of information that this forum has!
Being on Long Island, I don't have close or easy access to longer ranges locally, so most of my shooting is at 100 or 200 yards. I'd like to be able to practice longer, but there really isn't anything within practical distance for a day or weekend trip. Looking into taking a class or 2 in Pennsylvania next year where they have access to ranges up to 1000 yards though.
My current rifles are a Remington 700 custom shop in 7mm rem mag with a Burris XTR II 5-25 and a Ruger M77 Mk II V/T in .243 with a Vortex Viper PST 4-16 (gen 1). I've been wanting to shoot longer distances, so I've tried to set them up for local shooting as well as longer distances when I put them together. I don't handload, so I've been shooting mostly Hornady Precision Hunter out of the 7mm and the Nosler BT out of the .243
