So still very new to this type of shooting, and doing my best to learn as much as i can. Been in the Army a little under 10 now (and no the type of work i do doesn't require much shooting so most of what i learned so far is from reading, shooting in my free time and other people who are just better shooters than myself) I don't consider myself an expert on shit, maybe some computers lol. but i really started getting into "long range shooting" or what i consider long range which really is only out to about 1k. Long story short I really am here to learn what i can from more experience shooters, once i finish building my rifle the plan is to shoot in some PRS style matches most likely the TAC division because I can reload 308 easy without upsetting the wife about cost..... not sure if she know what i spent on the rifle yet lol but any help is welcome. Also SHLowlight what do i need to get access to the Mil forum? I sent a PM not sure if you have had time to get around to it, sorry if this comes off as me bugging you thank you for your help.

Welcome I'm from Georgia but I'm stationed on Camp Pendleton in California. Doing about the same as you but I just shoot when I come back home. I work as an electronics technician so no shooting except my annual qual and the occasional 155mm.You on Fort Benning? Or Ft Gordon? If you are interested I'll be there in October if you need help with the build I have a small shop and experience with bedding and other work I'll be building my rifle then. I didn't even know about the mil forum on here.
I'll be there the first 2 weeks of October might go out to fort gordon to shoot at their thousand looking for a place with more though. I feel you on the reading since I don't have any of my rifles here I just read and order parts till I go on leave.
