I'm in south east Texas, and I've been shooting for years and have shot clays competitively in college. Wanting to get into the PRS game, but I'm on a pretty tight budget. My first quest is decent glass. I'd like to stay under the $500 mark. I have a ruger gunsite in 5.56, I know it isn't the best, but I already have it and it'll qualify for the bolt tactical class. As for ammo, I have plenty of ball ammo, but very little match ammo. So, that'll be my next quest. Luckily I have a rcbs rock chucker kit I found a great deal on. So, after I have some brass saved up I'll be able to start reloading. It's never been setup, but I couldn't pass on it when I got it. I'm looking for advice on what to bring to a first match, and advice on a decent glass in my price range. Thanks in advance.

It’s an expensive game.

That being said, good luck. Practice as much as possible with all your ball ammo. Look for deals of 77gr SMK or Nosler .223 bullets and work up an accurate load. Hopefully you can find some primers or have a lot. Powder still comes around occasionally.
