Sorry to bother you pros but I'm new to this. I'm reloading for my .308 and purchased the listed die set. I'm just a little unsure what the best method is to set these up for quality ammo. My riflesmith ordered them for me saying they were the best and got the bushing to go with them. Any advise of instruction will be greatly appreciated.

I have the competition neck sizing set for .308 and I'm new to the game myself. the directions that come with the dies is what works best. for sizing I go .002 or .003 (testing right now) below neck diameter. for bullet seating I used the hornady tool to find out the distance to my lands and then backed off .020. I'll purposely load the first shell long, measure with a comparator and then set the seating die depth for .020 off the lands and go to town. I'll measure every 5th round just 'cos I'm anal.

Which Dies Did you Buy?
Are you on a single stage press or a progressive?
What is your loaded round diameter around the case neck?
and what is your bushing size?

I have to say, Redding does a pretty good job of instructing a user on how to setup their dies with the printed instructions that are included with their dies. Did you receive the printed instructions with the die set that you received? That would be my first stop. From there if you have any questions, I'm sure myself and others can help.

He already has one bushing, just don't know the size yet.
