I am looking at getting the new IOR in the 3x18x50 in 35mm from Scott off the hide here. It is in the price range for what i have to spend and was also looking at the Nightforce in that range to. I asked Scott about the digital illumination on the IOR because i was not clear on it and it seems to work like an eotech. Is this something new on rifle scopes and is it a good idea having the 2 buttons versus the standard method. I would like to here some feed back on this and the scope before i purchase this. Thanks for the help...DAN

The digital illumination seems to function just fine. One less knob in the way and I like the push button selection over the analog knob. Just wish it had an auto off and an off click between each setting would be nice too. I hate having to press both buttons to turn off because you usually have to change angles to get two finger one two buttons at once.

That's probably why then. I had read it had an auto-off somewhere but when I left it on for a while it didn't shut off so I assumed maybe I didn't read this somewhere. I just didn't leave it long enough. I stand corrected.

Not in English. The US site has VERY limited information on the new IOR 18x. In fact, here's the link to the Valdada website 'specifications' that has a few pictures and the following information:

"New! 3-18 x 50 FFP with Digital Illumination"

Pretty uninformative. In fact that's my single biggest complaint about the IOR optics is their website. In 2010 there really isn't any excuse for that and almost caused me not to buy one because I couldn't get ANY information on them anywhere.

    Jer,

Unless I misunderstood your comment... if you click "English" at the top right there's lot's of goodies, including a downloadable PDF brochure. LOTS of info.

You beat me to it, I was just about to post the exact thing after I downloaded the brochure.

Pretty good information without a bunch of weird translation glitches like I was expecting. IOR is really coming up in the world IMO.

Are all the new 2010 scopes a new generation that have been revamped or just some of the models. I have 2 rifles being built by Mike and 1 is the Kukri. I am having this built and keeping weight down as much as i can to use up at Tom Sarvers place. The 2 or 2.5x10 model in 30mm would be ideal for what ineed on this rifle but i wonder if they use the same glass in the 30mm as they do in the 35mm and are so called updated models also.

The 2.5-10x model isn't a Generation 4 per say, but that is because it doesn't need it. The 2.5-10x model has been their best selling, and least problematic scope in their entire line-up. And yes, it is the same glass.

I bought this one from Scott @ Liberty Optics and really, really like it. And that is from a guy who had a Generation I 3-18x model crap out on him.
