New long range shooter

Hello everyone, I have been hunting for a few years, but everything is relatively close inside of 150 yds here. I went to a range with steel out to 1200 for the first time this summer and loved shooting at distance. I have put together a tikka that I rebarreld with a proof barrel in 308 that I plan to take hunting out west this season.

Anyways I look forward to learning here on the Hide.

I shoot a bunch of calibers all the way up to 375ct BUT is still love shooting .308 past 1000 yards. For me I have found 178 ELD-M shoot very well at distance. I have made hits out to 1460 yards. The trace looks like a big rainbow...LOL

Hi I have a 1500 in .308 and use a 165grn sierra. Have pushed it out to 1500m with great success, best tip I can give is try several brands see what your rifle likes and go from there!

What is your preferred powder for that load? Varget?
