I just wanted to share with you my Manners T stock and the start of my new build.

I was interested in putting together a precision hunting rifle and wanted to do it on an HTG or similar platform. Called Manners up told them what i wanted on Thursday. They had the black T in stock and would let me know when they could re inlet it for the bottom metal and have Brandon call me for paint.

Needless to say I was expecting weeks not hours. Thursday afternoon I got a call from Brandon, the painter, about what colors I wanted to do and that it would be done that night and ready for shipping on MONDAY! Unbelievable! Needless to say I was stoked.

Then the bad news. Somehow more likely than not, my fault there was some miscommunication as to the type of stock I wanted. Manners had re inletted and painted the wrong stock for me. I straightened everything out with them on Monday morning and that night Brandon was painting the correct stock and it was on its way. I had my stock in less than a week even with the change.

Manners had the stock in stock, re inletted it the same day, fixed the miscommunication, never whined or tried to point fingers they just made sure that me the customer was happy.

A big shout out especially to Brandon for staying late, busting his ass and doing a fantastic job. THANK YOU MANNERS AND BRANDON otherwise known as Short Bus here on the hide.

And Viola Here is My Stock

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

Branden took 45 minutes a couple months ago to BS with me and show me all their different stocks when I dropped into the factory one afternoon.

Matt has been great with some changes I've made to an order (principally canceling it and getting a ready-to-ship stock instead).

Tom answered a quick question here on SH within hours.

I don't often buy high-end rifle stocks, but when I do, I buy Manners.

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

Man, I e-mailed them about an instock stock a few weeks ago and they said they would not change anything on them except maybe sling studs. I was bummed, but I picked up one here on the hide.

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

My experience with Manners has not been good. I waited 8 months for my Manners stock.

When it finally came it had the wrong inlet (Savage Target instead of the Savage 4.4 DBM). I sent it back and I'm waiting now for 2 months.

I've been calling Matt at Manners. Every time I call I get "it'll be done in X more weeks". After X more weeks, I call but they say it'll be a few more weeks. Arg.

Per the orginal CAPRC order sheet, your stock was ordered as a savage target action, that is what we inleted as. I will give you a buzz and try to get you squared away. Thank you very much,

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

I got my mcs-t used so I can't speak for their customer service but I love their stocks. One thing I saw is that there was a slight crack in my stock from the recoil lug slot back towards my front action screw. Make sure you bed your manners to make sure this doesn't happen with yours.

I have yet to have any more issues since I bedded mine.

Good Luck,
Merritt

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

I've had nothing but outstanding service from Manners. I own 3 T5A's and 1 Standard T. Im more than happy with all of them. I doubt I'll ever buy a different brand.

***on a side note, I've also been told that they will NOT make any alterations to the "Ready to Ship" stocks. I couldn't even get the guy to ad a sling stud for me. It wasn't Tom, it was the younger guy that takes calls. Anyway, I thought it was odd that they wouldnt add a stud or a rail, I was willing to pay and even wait longer for the alteration. I've asked on the last 2 stocks I've bought and was quickly told "No" both times.

If it was a stud in the rear, that might be different. The stock might have not been built with aluminum in the butt, we can still add a stud but it will have to be a coarse thread which we prefer not to use. We can even change some bottom inlets if the new inlet is bigger than the one in the stock and the stock does not have pillars or needs to be refilled. By doing these changes it will add a few days to the delivery, and might even need to be refinished. I will make sure that the office staff is up to speed. As we grow we try to stream line things and can not meet every request, but we will always do stuff like this. Send me a PM, on what you where needing and I will verify if we can do it on the stock you are looking at. Thank you

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

Tom,
Thanks for the reply. I got a local guy to add a 2nd front stud on one of them and a atlas rail on the other. It wasn't a big deal and I wasn't unhappy. I just didn't know why I was told no twice on simple things like this. I appreciate the chance to buy the "Stocks Ready to Ship" and not have to wait. Im very greatful it's a option you offer for us less picky folks that are impatient. Within 3-4 weeks I can usually find what I'm looking for there on your site.

Thanks for posting here.

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

If thats not customer service I dunno what is. OP have you had a chance finish your build yet?

Re: New Manners T Stock and Many Thanks

Haven't yet. But its going to be 308 with Surgeon 591R tactical knob Krieger barrel MTU contour jewell trigger and badger DBM. Probably going flat black on cerolote. Topped with a NF 5.5-22 or 2.5-10. Probably be done in 3 months and ill post pictures then.

Just got my T-4 from Stocky's on Thursday and dropped it off at my smith to be bedded. Not only can I say enough good things (thus far) about my Manners but also about Stocky's. Upon ordering I went the USPS route and since their recommendation is UPS, they upgraded my shipping for FREE and had it here in a day! Can't say enough good things about either company! Both companies have a life long customer....

I had to loan it to another guy not too long ago. Seems that when you buy one, you only need one, and the rest of the plugs are for everyone else, lol. I was happy to help out.
