Here is my Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 20" barreled action sitting in a Mcmillan A-5. the A-5 is 75% OD 25% Black, Non ADJ, SA, VB channel, 1 bipod stud, 3 flush cups. I have a 0 MOA 1 piece month with Burris Rings and a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x Mil Dot scope ( to be upgraded next). On the front there is a Harris 6-9, notched leg, swivel pod and a Tac Ops (OD) stock pack in the rear.

    LOL... range report.

Wow does this stock feel good. i set up the targets at 100 thinking I may have to sight in seeing I changed stocks. I set my Zero back to what it was the last time it was connected to the HS Precision LTR stock I sold.

I had loaded a few rounds to take to the range so I fired the first shot, Pretty much dead on. I shot 4 more rounds and the group ended up being .62 (5 shot group) I followed this group with a .55 (4 shot) and a .28 (3 shot) group(168's on this 3).

i ended the day with a 9 shot group that measured 1.1" Not to bad for shooting this stock for the first time.

The smooth feel of the shots, it is just one of those that you have to shoot to understand. To some it up... I love it!!!!!!

    Re: New stock

Shot 200 yards yesterday, and the gun was a very solid shooter, no real fliers when I do my part..LOL

My best group shot with 168 Sierra MK.. 42 g IMR 4064 and an OAL OF 2.806 measured 1.1"

I am so looking forward to shooting further distances.

All but the cold barrel shot, I blame the loads, were 1 moa or under shooting.

    Re: New stock

Well i have been working on some of my weaknesses while shooting. I am shooting prone and trying to master loading the bipod. I must say I am not winning the battle.. I cannot grasp such an easy concept and it is killing me... My Video camera battery was dead so I could not take myself to see if i was straight behind the rifle.. My NPO was good, My trigger tech was good, but that darn bounce. I hate it. Does having a 20" barrel have anything to do with this?? Probably not, i know i am reaching... Also is it easier to load up an Atlas Pod?

Well needless to say I still had a great time... met some great folks.... and shot a .81" 3 shot group at 300 yards... I was very happy with that for sure!!!!!!
Hey one more question for you guys... what amount of torque are you giving your action screws on tour drop in Mcmillan A5's ? I have mine at 50 IPT...

No its not the 20 inch tube, its most likely you arent straight behind it. Yeah the atlas is easier to load up to me because it pivots forward and backward as well as pan and cant. I have my rem 700 torqued into my A5 at 53 inch pounds
