Texas-welcome! Be open minded and try various suggestions with the understanding that what works best for someone else may not be the answer to your needs. You may have to adjust or tweak things to your comfort/equipment or other factors. The only thing that's Gospel in the world of shooting sports is safety, safety, safety!
Welcome. I'm fairly new myself but have been lurking for years. There is an unimaginable amount of knowledge here. Beware though, a lot of people here seem to have very very deep pockets, at least compared to me, so a lot of suggested gear is very high end.
Yes sir, I’ve noticed that. Currently I’m affraid that I am limited more by my ability than my equipment.
I can warn you that getting older doesn't help the ability problem - speaking from experience.
Haha, well at least when your equipment is subpar you have a good excuse for misses. Once you have a decent rifle, good glass, and hand loads the excuse well starts to run dry. Thank goodness there is always the weather.
