Hunting & Fishing New Mexico Mule Deer Help

I just got confirmation that we drew out for a mule deer hunt in southeast New Mexico (unit 31). Hoping that some of you guys might be able to point us in the direction where the big ones are hiding. This will be our first muley hunt and aren't really sure where we need to go. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

So you will be hunting near Elephant Butte?
If so pm me, a buddy of mine hunted out there a few years back and learned alot about the area.

No, it looks like we will be east of Elephant Butte. Here is a map of the unit we will be in.

I know this area. Try by Seven Rivers around the Brantley area. They hangout in and around there. My wife is from Carlsbad so I've seen my share.

I drew unit 34 and hope to tag my first Whitetail this year.
