Howdy folks! Life-long shooter/hunter, long time reloader, former LGS owner, former gunsmith schooled @ Colorado School of Trades, wobbly old man here.

Finally making time to play because I'm running out of time. Income is limited, but I have some decent equipment already, and I'm still upgrading as I find the funds. I have a 250yd range @ home that's handy for rimfires and load work-ups, and longer ranges available seasonally on farms surrounding me.

One of the things on my bucket list is engaging targets @ 1-mile, so I'm currently putting together a long-range rig based on a Howa HCR/APC 6.5CM that I recently acquired.

I won't post here very much because I'm busy learning (eyes/ears open and mouth shut). My actual area of expertise is Farriery, so if any of you want/need advice on horseshoeing feel free to ask.

Thanks for having me.

Welcome longhair I’m a new member also and live in MI and working on a Howa 6.5 Creedmoor build in a MPA chassis.
Do you know horseshoer north of Grand Rapids named Deboar ?
He does our mule.

I don't know Andy well, but I'm aware of who he is. I'm a former VP of the Michigan Horseshoer's Association, so I know a lot of the shoers in the state.

I might have a mile long lane close enough if you don't already. Most of my customers have horses I should learn some more about them ...
I can get out to 1000yds or so within walking distance, but I might have to take you up on the mile opportunity. Thanks!
Right now I'm planning a trip to NM to go to the NRA-WC next fall, so while it might be nice to shoot a mile before I get there it's not an imperative. I'd just like to not embarrass myself too much.
