Yeah, ouch.

I'm not sure I understand this technology entirely, though I've seen a couple of threads on it. I'm guessing here, but does it pretty much:

1) Range your target
2) Calculate the hold-over for the distance
3) Display that info to the HUD on the rifle
4) Indicate when your "dot" is on target.

I presume that the shooter still needs to hold and break their shot correctly, and that this system is basically designed to eliminate your need to dope for elevation, right? But, since most long range misses by experienced shooters seem to be related to wind, I'm not sure this VERY expensive system solves anything.

But, again, I might not be understanding what this thing is designed to do.

Re: new precision guided weapon system

Until they actually have affordable, GUIDED bullets, this is nothing but BS. I do not see a higher hit probability on this over a conventional set-up with an experienced shooter. Range isn't the issue, hold-over isn't the issue... It's all about wind calls and the fundamentals. This system does not seem to address either of those. TO me it looks like a waste of money. Might be that all-important step toward genuine guided bullets, but I see this as nothing more than a research and development product.

The whole point of this system is that you dont have to hold and break your shot with any measure of skill. You simply bring the reticle onto the tagged target. When they align the rifle fires instantly.
