New reloading dies

So I used to little or not good enough lube on my brass and i ripped the case rim.
I then broke the pin trying to get the case out
So now I need to buy a new sizing die.
The die was from a Forster Die set in 6,5x55.
The cost of a new forster sizing die is about the same as a set of dies from RCBS is the forster dies worth it?

Its for long range shooting using 6,5x55...

Did you ruin the stem or just the decapping pin. You don't need new dies Yet. Did you get the case out?

I broke the stem, and the case is still stuck.

Thought I would use a hydraulic press to remove the case tomorrow.

RCBS makes a stuck case remover kit, sometimes an invaluable piece of equipment.

Just use a 1/4 - 20 tap and bolt with washer and an appropriatley sized socket (as a spacer) and it will come out, plus so much cheaper than buying a kit.

Someone had suggested this to me and it was easy. I actually made the pieces in to a kit other than the tap so it's right there ready to go.

drill, tap, socket, washer, bolt. Fast, simple, effective. Order die parts, reassemble, done. More lube next time. Everybody sticks a case eventually, next time you'll be prepared.

We use 1/4"x20 taps/bolts. You would likely use a 12 or 13mm but the process for pulling stuck cases is easy enough.

IF I had your bent decap rod problem I would (1) get a Lee Universal Decapping die AND (2) a Lyman "M" expander die and would continue to use the same sizer die.
