I've got a dilemma , I finally purchased the Vortex 5x25x50 Viper PST Gen ll . I had intentions of putting it on my Ruger 25-06 for long range shooting , but the Ruger only likes 90grain or less bullets . These smaller bullets have a very low ballistic coefficient . I'd like to be able to reach out to 800-1000 yards .
Should I do it or go with a new caliber/ gun that is more suited for that purpose ? It will mostly be used for punching paper and groundhogs . I do not currently hand load . Thanks in advance for any advice .
