Finally got her, hope to have a range report after the weekend. Fit and finish on the Rock is outstanding. Weight is not bad at all and it is balanced perfectly. It was well worth the 2 month wait. Hopefully she will like some of the 50, 53, or 55 grain loads I have worked up. BTW, the RRA NM trigger is outstanding.

RRA ATH Carbine
18" Bead Blasted Barrel
Chromed bolt carrier
ERGO Grip
Magpul PRS
Primary Arms mount
Nikon M-223, 3-12x42 with Nicoplex

-Still need a bi-pod adapter, just put it on for pics.

Took her out Saturday and was very impressed. Everything I tried shot sub MOA. It really liked the 55 gr Sierra Blitzkings over Benchmark.

Below were the best two loadings (24.2 and 24.4 grains of Benchmark, WW brass, Rem 7 1/2), two 5 shot groups at the same target at 100. Think I'll keep her. The best factory load it shot was a box of cheap, re-manufactured HSM with 50 grain V-max.

Looks good. Hope you dont have the same problem with as I do with my entry tactical cause RRA wont back up their product and say its normal wear on the inside of the upper reciever.

Santee, I think when you really start airing some of those bullets out you will fall in love with that Nikon M-223 3-12x42 Nikoplex scope. Being able to dial out your distance has been huge fun at the range. Thus far every guy I have let shoot my DPMS with the M-223 scope has bought one. Now Nikon has a big promotion on their M-223 line. Buy a M-223 Scope from a Participating Dealer and get a FREE M-223 AR Scope Mount. $99 value. These are quality built mounts too. Check them out at Nikonhunting.com

I was very impressed by the Nikon. It was very clear and tracked flawlessly. Best $350 I've ever spent on a scope. I'm sure it won't compare to my Zeiss for low light, but for paper punching and the occaisional coyote, it should do fine. I've got a line on a 700 yard range, as soon as Turkey season is over. Then I'll get to test out the Nikon and stretch the legs on this 223. I'll keep it updated.

It's always nice when a plan comes together. Sometimes there are just to many cooks to make it all work out the way we want it to, Kudo's to you for doing it your way. I know you will be impressed when you get to shoot at a target 600 yards away. I know the only critter I'd shoot at 600 yards away would be Wylie Coyote.
Enjoy!

Re: New Rig, RRA ATH Carbine... Range Report

Just got my own ATH. Slapped on an Mk4 4.5-14x40, and an Atlas pod. .5 with 60 gr Vmax. .75 with 77 gr bthp's. Seems to like the Hornady 60 gr Vmax. Real shooter. More like a bolt gun. Just saying'.
