I traded in a couple of rifles and bought an rpr in 308. Most of what I have for hand loading is 308 so i figured i could swap barrels later. I've been having issues with handloaded cartridges not being able to become fully chambered, and one got stuck. I wasn't able to cycle the bolt back and ended up removing the lower receiver to see if something got jammed. I noticed the trigger group was missing a screw so i took the rifle back to the store, and they were able to use more force to retract the bolt. They ended up replacing the missing screw after some haggling, but my question is, has anyone else experienced missing pieces in these rifles, and is there anything else I should be looking at before i fire the rifle?

m1a-er, you mention trading in a couple of rifles and buying the RPR.

Was this a brand new, never fired, out of the box RPR or one that may have had another owner, if even for a very brief time?

If you are the original first owner you might want to give Ruger a call and explain your issue. They may want to go over the rifle themselves if you still have concerns.
