I have wanted one of these ever since I got back from Afghanistan. I was attached to the 10th MTN and they had them as their DMR.
I finally got one!!!

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

In another few years I'll get another EBR. I just sold mine to fund my Mega build. Gotta hate college, you have to realign your priorities and I can only afford 1 semi 308. In time, in time.

Mine was a standard 22 but I'll definitely be getting an 18 incher for my next. The 22 balanced well in the EBR chassis but I think the 18 will be even better.

How do you like the Ergo? I had the Sage grip for mine, I just couldn't get used to the Ergo feel.

But I gotta say, your EBR is sexy as hell! Let us know how she shoots.

Here is it's little brother. LWRC M6a3...
I had to send the upper to LWRC because it was FTE first time out... PITA Pretty crappy that a $2,400 rifle wont work straight from the factory...
I wont get it back til the 18th

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

Sweet mine will look the same here shortly. Kinda curious if its the Gen 4 mount as well. I ordered one for mine and it looks nothing like that. Fired 3 rounds and the side bolt popped out even with using blue lok tite. So I ordered the Sage mount for it now all I need is the stock and it will be complete. Mine will be rocking a 10X scope with a 1 o' clock red dot. Just hope the brass doesnt hit it on the way out. May end up with a Mcmillian stock on my NM just to change things up.

What a coincidence, I just got mine from a guy funding a Mega build... lol

Thanks again, sgtbutt.

The scope mount sucks. It kept getting lose. I will be getting a new one ASAP

I was able to eek 1 MOA out of it with Hornady TAP 168 gr rounds. The trigger is way heavy and it needs a shoe. It is fun to shoot and every one at the range stoped what they were doing to watch...

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

Is that the PST 4-16? If so how do you like it?

Yeah one thing I like about going to the old geezer infested range is that they put down all their rusted wooden boat anchors to watch me shoot my AR's

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

It cost me way too much... it was still $1,000 less than a LWRC REPR.

It is the HS Long range scope. I like it so far. The eye relief is awesome.
When I started double tapping the targets I heard " what the heck is that thing? A machine gun?"
You gotta love rednecks!
I don't know if the rear lugged receivers will work. You'll have to google it or look on sages website.

I was getting ok groups considering the scope mount wasn't completely tight.
I could just get 1 MOA with TAP ammo. I need to get a better trigger for sure...
Thanks for the advise on the grease. I have always used break free and some graphite with no issues. I know some guys who use motor oil. That's what we used on our crew served guns in the Army

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

I had one in Iraq on my first deployment Adobt a sniper (now Americansnipers.org supplied the stocks (thank God for Americansnipers and their support of the troops). <They have filled a lot of needs for a lot of soldiers that the Army overlooks or doesn't have the ability to respond rapidly enough to.

I could get it to put 2 rounds in one hole, 3 under 1MOA, but the barrel being M14 was so thin that the effect of heating was anything more than 3 rounds seemed to begin to open dispersion to 2MOA.

At 20 rounds relatively quickly, accuracy was a total crap shoot, and after letting the barrel cool, you'd stack two rounds again.

Of course it is a rack grade service rifle base gun, with a chrome lined bore, so the expectation of sniper rifle accuracy is a little overzealous.

I had my gas cylinder shimmed, the flash hider was checked for alignment, the trigger group slicked, a badger Ordinance NM operating rod guide, buffertech buffer installed. Add the Sage stock and you have a heavy albeit accuracy optimized M14.

The original equipment plastic stock was really crap.

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

not knocking the mount but have you thought about going with the larue SPR-E LT139? mount it backwards (i talked to the guys at larue before i did this. they auctually recommended it.) best thing is it will accommodate 35mm tube if you have the need.

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

Your rifle is wickedly beautiful!

Springfield mounts are known to suck. I might recommend looking into Fulton Armory's EBR cantilever mount or call Andy Horton down at Smith Enterprise. Andy did a superb 4.5# trigger job on my McMillan.

Re: New Sage EBR Scout

To answer two questions:

No the Sage stock does not support a rear lugged receiver.

If your cylinder has been unitized, you will need a new one as part of the process to put your rifle into a Sage stock is to remove the front band.
