Just picked it up at my LGS on the way home from work today, tomorrow my Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 will be here along with the Badger Ordinance rings. Now the wait until I can get out to the range with it this weekend.

Re: New Savage 110 FCP

Nice pick-up. I wonder why they used what looks like such a tapered barrel on this, I can't imagine even with the thin profile barrel anyone would walk around with this thing. I bet if they put a heavy barrel on it would be a bigger hit.

Re: New Savage 110 FCP

sweet looking, wished Savage would sell more if this model is available in 300WM, 338 is a tad too expensive on ammo... Savage does have the cheaper looking lonmg-range model w/ cheap stock & action in 300WM.

Re: New Savage 110 FCP

An LRP in 300WM would be nice. They seemed have forgotten about all the other LA cartridges and are now just focusing on the 338LM.. which is a major step from a .308 SA

+1

Re: New Savage 110 FCP

Took it out and zeroed it at 200 yds today, shoots extremely well considering the range I was at had since I was there last covered all the bench tops with a slick vinyl and there was no way in hell I could preload the bipod properly. Even so the final group was a hair under 1" for 5 shots at 200, quite acceptable. The stock isn't a McMillan or Manners, but its leaps and bounds better than the usual Savage tupperware, I actually think I may continue to use it until after the first of the year instead of replacing it ASAP. Over all I think its $1200 very well spent, Saturday I'll stretch its legs a little more and take it out to 500 yds, but that will be on steel so no groups to measure.

Not bad.

That's the HS Precision it came with, I actually have a 10 FCP-K in .308 also, it's in a McMillan A5 which I have much love for.

Cool, thanks. I have taken a look at the McMillan stocks, spendy, but very nice. I also like the Manners too!

Re: New Savage 110 FCP

Very nice rifle.

I've always drooled over the .338LM, but with not having anyplace to shoot well beyond 1000, it just doesn't make sense to me given the cost. "Sexy" caliber, tho.
