here is my new savage 110ba .338 lapua magnum.

Re: new savage 110ba .338 lapua magnum

well i ordered it in febuary and it handles real well, very heavy with scope and bipod. the accutrigger is sweet. have a hawke 4.5x14x42 mildot scope on it. never saw anyone use one so i thought i would try it out so far it working really good.
shot 1/2" at hundred yards with hornady factory ammo, but the first 2 shots were the same hole. recoil is light for this cartridge, between the weight and the muzzle brake i can shoot this all day long. you'll have to ask the guy that was sitting next to me when i shot how well the muzzle brake works lol!!!
will keep you updated on its progress

Re: new savage 110ba .338 lapua magnum

Glad to see someone has one of these and to hear it is performing well. Truth be told I want to get into the .338LM game but I don't have $4k to spend. I got a gunrag that has it on the cover so I could check it out but I haven't read it yet.

For anyone ready to buy one now I just saw one on Gunbroker today.

I look forward to any updates you have to offer as you use it more.

hands loads are a crap load cheaper

Here in australia, where prices are freaking high as... i could reload each shot for less than $1.50 AU not including the brass... not sure on the brass life, but im guessing if you anneal the brass you could get at least 10 shots out of each shell...

100 x .338 LM brass = $395 AU / 1000 total reloads from the brass = $0.395 or 40cents.

I will round it up nicely and say i could probably load up a round for an average of around $2 AU per round... thats about $1.80 US

thats not all that bad in my opinion... over here a .17HMR rimfire round costs about $0.50 cents... so that works out to 1 handloaded .338 Lapua Magnum being = to 4 x .17 HMR
