Rifle Scopes New Scope New Rings?

I have recently ordered (still waiting) a Weaver Grand Slam Tactical (mil/mil) optic. This is my first mil/mil optic.

Anyhow im mounting it on a precision AR-15 and I am wondering what size rings would clear the flat top reciever (while getting as low as possible). I would get the Larue mount because I have them on all my other AR -platform builds but I dont want to spend $200 for a mount on this build. I looking for a set of $100 rings but dont know what size to get.

I know the optic is 40mm w/ a 1" tube.
Would a set of High rings work?

Any pictures would help if you have a AR build with an 40mm optic and rings on it.

I have one of these also and have a extra set of Burris Extreme Tactical (medium) rings. I wonder if it will work?

If you have another 1" tube scope around use some pennies or whatever you have and use that to get the desired height and measure the stack. I used this method for my cz.
