Well I finally got tired of the Hogue stock on the Rem SPS-V. I ordered one of the Bell and Carlson A3 Tactical models from Stocky's. First off, Stocky's got the stock to me in less time than they quoted me and were good to work with. This is the first B&C stock that I have purchased and I am certainly impressed. Compared to the Hogue, it just feels like an improvement as soon as you take it out of the box. I painted the Hogue stock tan some time back. After I removed the barreled action from the stock, you could actually see a couple of points on the barrel where the paint had rubbed off on to the barrel and where there were 2 pressure points at the end of the stock that had been touching. No wonder I could get the gun to group great sometimes, and no so much others. In comparison, the B&C stock is completely free floated. The barrel channel is cut for a varmint contour, but has plenty of room to be opened up to a larger contour if one wanted to. The original bottom metal dropped right in, but I am sure that I will be upgrading this soon as well. The whole stock just feels better when you shoulder it and the hook is a nice little feature. I have stocks from a couple of the big names out there, and while this is not one of them, it is not far behind in my opinion and is a good deal for the money. I don't have a camera available at the moment to take pictures, but it looks just like the one on Stocky's website.

In short, I recommend this stock.

Re: New Stock

Pictures. A word of caution. I did the same thing for my 243. Couldn't group my load for anything. Turns out that the sides of the stock needed to be inlet a bit with a Dremel. After that, it shoots realy well. Good choice for the money.

I wonder how much difference there is between the b&c and my choate. </div></div>
after ordering stockys said it could be as long as 8 weeks but probably sooner. i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
looking around before i placed the order the choates grip looks bigger and i have stubby hands; this is my main reason for going with b&c. the b&c i think is a bit lighter too.
i'm used to waiting in order to get what i really want so if it takes 2 months then so be it. i think midway had them in stock and would have cost a little more which now i'm thinking that wouldn't be so bad.
