Hunting & Fishing new Texas state fly rod record for snook

Caught this back in September, fishing with one of my custom rods.

It was 37 inches long and 12 lbs even.

It was in Brownsville on my custom wrapped sage xi3 9wt(my own work with custom guide spacing). The rod pictured was closer for the picture. I have posted my*rods before here on the board. I was also using a black zonker. It was blowing close to 30 and on and off rain.

Nice snook. Good fighters and one of the best tasting fish out there.

We try to put them back cause the freeze in 2010 killed much of the population off, on top of that over fishing cause them to all but disappear and they only started coming back in the late 90's

I do all my snooker fishing in Florida. We were hit pretty hard by that freeze but numbers are coming back.
