New to forum and building semi custom rifles

Hello all! im new here and am looking to build my first semi custom bolt gun. i really dont know what goes into build your own rifle or where to start really i have a stock in mind but i cant find just a stock like it for sale. here is what it looks like. its like theo n on this remmy

wow thanks that was fast... now another noob question whats the diffrence between short action and long action? im very good with ar-15/10 type rifles but ive never owned a bolt gun before.

The difference is exactly what it sounds like. A short action is for "short" cartridges like .223 or .308 and Short magnums like the Winchester Short Magnum(WSM) Long actions are for "long" cartridges like a 30-06 and standard magnum cartridges like the Winchester magnums and Remington Ultra Magnums. basically everything that is larger than a short cartridge is built off a Long Action. Good stock choice BTW

thank you snipe i chose it because of the adjustable cheek rest that i wish my issue weapon had lol... ok so a short action would be for a .308 which i think is what i want to build. thank you guys for being so helpful ive had a few experiences on other forums and they where not anyhting like this.
If i have any more questions ill try and post them in this thread so as to not make unnecassary ones

ok so didnt take me long to get more questions... i want to get a threaded .308 barrel and a suppressor dont know where to find either of them

also and recomendations on triger assys. and actions?
oh and because i have it set aside short action tan/ blk web bell & carlson tactical medalist stock $407.24
