I am very new to rifles in Arizona but do have a Steyr SSG 04 in 300 WM, A Sig 3000 in 308 and just got a Sako TRG 42 in 300 WM. I am very used to 1911's and reloaded a lot for them and other pistols but totally new to rifles. Right now we have a stage II fire restrictions in force for the National Forests and I plan on using my local range soon.

Got a great deal on the Steiner 5312 scope on the Sig 3000 at $1100 new in box and have a Nightforce on the Steyr (5.5-22x56) but no scope yet on the TRG. Waiting for the new Steiner T5Xi and hope it is all that they say it is. I sold most of my Ed Brown's and Colt 1911's Gold Cups and will be getting into the long range rifles now that I left New York City and moved to Arizona.

Welcome, friend. There is a cadre of long range shooters here in AZ - but we are kind of spread out. For one, I would like to see us form some kind of club or organized shoot (maybe on a quarterly basis) to share our passion. I suspect we are all just a little too busy to pick up that ball and run with it, but things may change in the future.
