I've had this problem before, you are probably right at the edge of your pressure limit without the can and are being pushed over with the added back pressure induced by the can. you probably ought to back off it a little, i dont know what you are using the rifle for but if you are seeing pressure with the can on, ill bet if you ran your rifle hard at a comp, you'd prob see pressure even without the can. hope this helps.

if you are using handloads.... back off on your powder some. You are running to hot with the can attached.
