New to sniper hide and (long range)

hi guys. I'm new to this place but I have a few questions.
I want to get into long-range shooting but not sure where to start. before I get into it I will say I work at a gun shop and I am around guns all day long. I need the fine details of getting a rifle and maybe some things to stay away from. I do want to get a savage 308 was thinking about a model 10. would like something for hunting Coyotes and 1000 yard shooting. I know I will have to compromise in certain things but I am willing tto do that. want a 20" barrel or 22" bull barrel. I have a good scope and rings just need help on gun.

I love my savage 10 FCP HS Precision stock 308. 1:10 twist. I believe it's a 24" barrel though! It's a lot a bang for your buck!

Savage lrp in 6.5cm. Nothing but good and it has the target action with a trigger that pulls in just ounces. It's an everything gun. Bench, coyotes and 1000+ yards steel ringer.

cool guys. i was thinking the 10 fp-sr. 6.5 would be cool but i know i can get 308 a little cheaper. what kind of accuracy you guys getting

My 10 FCP HS always shot the GMM 168's best. Usually 1/2 moa if I do my part.
