Hey guys, Kinna new to the Remington 700 rifles but I want one. I'm wanting to build one just to have my own "spin" on what I would want from an SWS.
1st off, it's not like I don't have metal working experience because I do. And if I have to do anything like headspacing, just trust the fact that I'm not retarded and will gladly pass that part off to a qualified gunsmith, so I know it's done right.
I like the idea of the M24, being able to change a few things out and go to .300 Win Mag. I understand this takes some kind of long action receiver (Right word?).
This is part of where the real question begins. Are ALL the factory receivers built to cycle cartridges like .300 WIn Mag? Or do they mill them to only cycle the cartridge that they will chamber it to fire when the rifle is built?
