You guys are talking about different colored strippers.
This is what I was thinking of…

I really had you pegged for the hookers and blow option. When you say assets, are you referring to stocks, ETFs, index and mutual funds? If so, I'm already saving and investing at a solid pace. I have separate funds set aside for (car/boat/?) and a land purchase.

I think it would be pretty convenient, I live 5 miles from a major river and marina, I could either trailer the boat 12 minutes each way, or rent a slip for the season. Knowing how much time I spent on the kayak, I'm confident I'd get good use out of a boat.

Bikes are awesome, I really miss riding. But, due to injuries, it looks like my riding days are behind me.

Off-road vehicle might be cool, I know there is a place to dirt bike and ATV about an hour from me. I'm in the prairie lands of the Midwest though, so generally the terrain is flat, lol. I'll ask my Jeep friends if they know of anything.

My default for the last 25 years has been dirtbikes. However, the 5 years I spent in the Midwest I never touched my bike as there's hardly anywhere to ride. Riding around a field is boring as hell in about an hour.

So I grabbed a 14' aluminum boat and 55lb trolling motor and fished for pan fish and walleye in every pond and lake I could find. While drinking excessive amounts of beer.

I moved back west where there's public lands and trail systems again, and now I have thousands of $ in rods and tackle stuffed in a corner, boat is gone, and I ride dirtbikes every chance I get.

A Dodge Charger may work in Hattiesburg, Mississippi but not many other places.
You need a Mercedes as it relates to their stage name better. Not many strippers named “Charger.”
Good ol' Hattiesburg!! The Hub City. Keg and Barrel! The Rock. Benny's Boom Boom Room. Camp Shelby. I've never been around so many lesbians in my entire life.

If you’re leaning toward a boat I would go with a club membership at Freedom Boats. You pay a couple thousand down and a monthly membership fee which includes insurance, maintenance, but you pay for fuel.
Our location has 30 boats to choose from. You can drive up on a motorcycle and walk down to the boat and go cruise for 4-5 hours then come back to the dock hand them the keys and all done. They swap out new boats every 2-3 years depending on hours of use.

No maintenance, no cleaning, no storage fees, or messing with the boat launch. They have around 40 locations across the country you can also use as a member. When we travel to Florida we reserve a boat there which is cool we don’t have to trailer a boat cross country.

After owning multiple boats you will end up financially ahead using freedom boats.

Just to drive a boat around?

I always looked at boats as a pain in my ass necessary to fish the good spots. They are a place to store all the rods and tackle, and you can't fish without $10k in electronics 🤣

Yea, I hear that. When I was trying to move --unsuccessfully-- to Colorado my plan was for a KTM with a MotoTrax kit. If you're not familiar, it's a system that replaces the swing arm, suspension and rear wheel with a track system and the front wheel with a ski.

But here, there's not many places to dirt bike or ATV, and everything is flat.

Since I can't kayak now, I have a bunch of rods and reels, including some JDM Shimano Metanium 70s, sitting in the corner of the garage. With a boat I could at least cruise, do some fishing, and go trolling & pull planer boards. With a solid 20' deep-V I could hit Lake MI and Green Bay for Walleye and Salmon.

I briefly considered a horse, since I've always liked horses, and worked on a horse farm during college, I don't think I'm willing to commit to $700/mo for boarding. There's a nicely developed trail system out here for riding with plenty of access.

This is what I was thinking of…

However good she thinks it is, I wouldn't break a wooden nickel for it.

If you're really brave try paragliding with the motor backpack thing, I run into them here in Arizona they go up 5-10k feet above ground altitude on those things.

I'd sell that, put the 25k with it and buy a 4wd truck.
A friend tried to get me into Power Paragliding but he found out that it gets really sketchy if the wind kicks up while you're doing it. He had a few close calls, fear took hold of him, then he sold it. I thought for sure I'd get killed so I didn't buy one.

Lots of guys have mentioned boats. I will agree with the boat vote. Here in north central Idaho we see pretty nice used boats for $25-$30k. I’ve seen some decent jet sleds with twin jets for around $25k. Guys run the Clearwater and snake with that size and you can catch plenty of fish. Or else get a 20’ sled with a 350 and a Hamilton or a good 250 horse outboard and hit the lakes. Lots of options in the $25k range in boats.

I'm thinking I want a new toy, something to play with during non-winter months. Purchase budget is $25k. Whatever the toy is, it should be an "outdoor" toy. I have/had motorcycles and it was like a default for "I don't want to be inside, what can I do outside?" However, I now need to replace motorcycles with something else.

For several years I've been saying "boat", as in a deep-V fishing boat, 17' to 20'. I used to kayak fish rather aggressively, probably 30 hours a week during the pandemic, so I do enjoy being on the water, and of course, fishing. Due to life happening, I'm not really able to kayak fish any longer, and subsequently haven't been fishing (shore fishing is lame). I'm looking at used Lund, Alumacraft, Crestliner and have several good options.

I've always liked cars, and have had a couple "fun" cars along the way; Porsche 944, MkV GTi with some light mods. But now only drive a soccer-mom grocery hauler. A couple of my friends are into cars, one is buying an M3 Competition and another has been poking me for years to buy a fun car. I found a 1993 Porsche 968 Club Sport for sale which would be cool, or I've thought about a BMW Z M-roadster and supercharging it. Or something along those lines, there's worlds of options.

I trust the Bear Pit for positive life advice and out of the box thinking, so whatcha got bear pit? Car, boat, or something I haven't thought of?
What state do you live in?

Oh, I know all about snowbikes. This was earlier today...

When I got into my current role, I found myself going full mid-life crisis. I’ve always wanted a boat and a fast car and ______ and _______. You know how it goes. I narrowed it down to boat or a fast car, since I couldn’t justify getting both.

I live in Kansas. The boating season is pretty short. I’m not screwing with the holiday weekends on the lake, so that only gives me 9 weekends to go play. At least one of those will be bad weather, so make it 8. Buying a boat for 8 uses seemed stupid. This would be different, if I lived somewhere else or worked less (or was retired). Instead of buying, I’m just going to go to the marina with a stack of $100’s and find a new friend with a nice boat.

Track car, for the win! The track season is March to October. The events are further away, than the lakes, but there are a lot of them. Plus, I enjoy the cruising and Sunday drives, even when tracking isn’t available.

That's weird!

Why'd you put a Chevy logo on your Mustang?

Maybe buy some crypto.
If one catches things right one can make some serious money but don't FOMO in like I did at first. Buy low in the dips, sell high later, rinse and repeat. I suggest using a Yubikey and a hard wallet to keep your funds safe and use the stop loss feature.

Hint, having massive utility XRP/Ripple is a good one and might be the next BTC in growth. I've layered in to be a crypto millionaire by 12x. Honestly it's been a little stressful but fun at the same time, and I've gained some serious $$$$$ lately when I took profits off my other crypto's that I bought on April 8th. Doing all this kinda turned into a hobby too.

My SIL lost his job two months ago so he's in a desperate situation. I suggested trying trading crypto and in one week he made $1000 off his initial $3000!
It's funny because he had his Coinbase account from 4 years ago and had left $20 in BTC in it which he had forgot about, so when he signed on last week it had turned into $115!

I vote car only because I’ve had an idea for a Porsche Cayman clanging around in my head lately. The one I’m specifically thinking about is a bit outside your price range(981 chassis ‘13-‘16) but a 987.2 would be doable.

I kind of specifically want PDK, non-PASM, & black interior and then put a barely streetable adjustable suspension under it to rip through the mountains. With long term plans(or lottery winnings) of Kevlar body panels, lightweight polycarbonate windows, & ceramic brake retrofit

I imagine it being the Porsche equivalent to the Team Schirmer V8 GT from Germany(look that up too, it’s amazeballs)

OK, it turns out I actually am but a common poor 😭 Even on used boats $25k doesn't go far. I'm searching within 300 miles and there's only a few boats less than 20 years old.

I wound up at a power boat dealer, by mistake, and when I said I was looking for Lund and Alumacraft the dude all but called me poor and told me to leave, lmao.

I'll have to consider increasing my budget, as allergic as I am to spending money.

Im on the hunt for a 2009-2012 (987.2) Cayman myself. Drove a white with black interior and wheels with PDK and really liked it.

Im holding out for a manual, just so my wife cant claim it.
I’m really missing a fun car. I had a T5, awd, MT Volvo S40 a few years ago but that blew a head gasket and I didn’t have time(with young kids/babies in the house) to fix it.

My first German car love, even before working for Mercedes, was Porsche and the Cayman is just such a great value. We’ve got more important family stuff to do right now but I need a fun car again…
