So I was sitting in my shop on Monday morning enjoying a cigar while everyone was off to school and work after the very busy holidays. First time in the last 4 years that this happened to me. When you build for others, you seldom get a chance to build for your self. Even though I've built one or two 300 Win Mags for others in the past, I never had my very own. So I dug through my left over actions, stocks, and barrels, and went to work on my project. The only thing I'm not happy about, is that I didn't stop to take pics of the build in progress, sorry guys.:(

Below are some pics of my new toy.

Re: New Toy

Oz,

You may have retired from being a rifle builder but I see you did keep all the talent. That’s a very clean and classy, drop dead sexy rifle you have there.

Re: New Toy

Thanks a lot guys. I actually have a few more to build for myself from left over parts. I have another 300 Win Mag that I'm building with go along pics. I'll be honest though, I will not be keeping it. I will post it for sale right after I test fire it, for a VERY reasonable price. I have a new toy which I want to build up a bit. Here's a pic of that.

That's some funny stuff. After what seems like a life time of working in a Nuclear Power Station in the early part of my life as a mechanical journeyman, some things like metal fabrication, and machining rubbed off, and I later found use for it that I actually enjoyed. Thanks again for the laugh!!

Re: New Toy

I have two more on the bench right now. The first is the other 300, which as I said before, I will sell. The other one however is one I have always wanted. A suppressed 260 Remington in an AICS, that can shoot bug holes. I'll post pics when I get them done. I'm almost done with the 260. BTW, the 300 shot well under 1/2 MOA, but I was in a big hurry to leave the range after shooting, that I forgot to take pics. I promise to do so next time I shoot it, and post a report with pics. This whole hobby side is a lot more fun that the business side of it.

Check out these guys http://tacticalarmorgroup.com/Wincher.aspx for some bombproof bumpers. I had their winch bumper on the front of my truck when some tool in a Dodge cut me off, their bumper tore off the rear half of his bedside and his rear bumper. Nothing more than paint scratches on my rig thanks to the bumper.

Re: New Toy

I long for the day that my pile of spare parts looks like that! The rifles that I have put a lot of time and effort in to do not look like that!

+1 on needing to go to gun smithing school

Very nice!
