With 87% of the votes counted, Ardern's center-left Labour Party has won 48.9% of the vote, meaning her party looks likely to score the highest result that any party has achieved since the current political system was introduced in 1996.

"Tonight, New Zealand has shown the Labour Party its greatest support in at least 50 years," Ardern said in a powerful victory speech on Saturday night where she referred to the difficult times ahead for New Zealand. "And I can promise you: we will be a party that governs for every New Zealander."

Funny enough, as "unfree" as America currently seems to those of us who can remember a time of much greater freedom, it's still "free" as compared to what a lot of the rest of the world has slipped into. If the good folks loose the political and cultural fight, future generations will look back at the time we are living in now and wonder how on earth people ever got away with being so wild and uncontrolled.

You'd be hard pressed to find any other country in the world that actually has even as much freedom as we do in this country if you live in a "free" state.

At least here, the police are not literally beating in your door and carrying you off in handcuffs in front of your children for the "crime" of chatting on facebook about having a peaceful protest against lockdowns, since the government allows anti Trump protests... YET

At least you don't have to worry about your wife getting hauled away in chains by the local "just following orders" types and your children terrified by the police for the "crime" of telling some mentally challenged male that he has a penis and that makes him not a woman.... YET

Here it just means you get fired from your job, and blacklisted by employers, and the mob tries their best to silence you and destroy your business and kick you out of anything you are involved in and shut you down from speaking...
