New to the Hide and have a general question about stocks for Rem 700 SA (308): is there much benefit to an HS M24 stock over a B&C? I'm currently running a B&C stock (with the hook, I forget the model name) and like the looks of the M24. I don't need LOP adj. but like the cheekpiece on the M24. Both stock have Al blocks and I can get a Karsten piece, I was just looking for some wisdom from folks with experience with both before I spend more money than I should. Shooting will be target only.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: NewB stock question

Depending on how much extra "vertical" lift you need to get your sight line, might want to just get a stock pack with maybe a little extra padding underneath. Cheaper than a Karsten and soft on the cheek. And you don't need to drill holes in your stock, not that the holes are a big deal.

Re: NewB stock question

Remau, the rifle does seem to shoot pretty well. I've only taken it to the local (FREE) 100 yard range, so I don't yet know how she'd do much further. I have to wait a few more months before we get a 1000 yarder here in Michigan. Do you recommend a bed job with the Al block? I know we're talking short range so gains may be minimal, but I want my rig to be 'finished' so that I'm practicing with the final product. Thanks again and Go Gators!
