newbie.. 30-378 brass to 338-378?

Question... can a 30-378 new unfired Weatherby brass be fireformed in a 338-378 to form a 338-378 case? If so, what kind of load would be used - the smallest charge for a light .308 varmnit bullet?
Or, can it be done with a couple of expanders?

Hasn't anyone in here ever opened up a case mouth? Should I go somewhere else on this site to find an answer?

Thanks for your reply, spife7980. If a potential student pilot asked a newbie question
and I used your type of reply, I probably wouldn't have been a flight instructor for 43 years.

Are you sure that you should be case forming if you can even answer these questions yourself?

Neither the 30-378 nor the 338-378 Weatherby cartridges get much attention here.

For Fudd calibers you really need to go to Longrangehunting.

To answer your question, you would run the 30-378 up into a 338-378 die to expand the neck. If the shoulder position is the same between the two after this operation then you are done. If not, fire form using the pistol powder/cream of wheat method.

As for snitching on @spife7980 in the new members thread...quit being a bitch, it doesn't go well around here.

The 6.5 creedmores don't do too well in ELR. I do have a weatherby MK5 action, which is strong enough to keep me alive if I screw up. Are you a friend of dan crenshaw?
