I am looking at Sightron SIII scopes for long distance 600-1000 yard shooting with 308 TRG22.

I was concerned that the dot reticle being black would be lost on the target and the illuminated red dot reticle would be much easier to see. My preference would be the 32X scope with 1/8 MOA adjustment but the only illuminated scope scope is 50X and 1/4 MOA adjustments.

All comments welcome. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Newbie F Class Scope Question

If you really are looking at shooting F Class I would opt for the 1/8 adjustment. From my experience not many people use the illumination option even though many scopes on the line have it(Standard on Nightforce BR and NXS scopes). I use the 1/8 dot and have not had a problem losing it on the target. The option for illumination is nice to have but I don't think it is as important as the 1/8 adjustments. You can't go wrong with the 10-50.
