Hello, I just mounted a new Millett TRS-1 on my savage .270 w/ Millett 30mm med. weaver rings. I used the same bases from my previous 1" scope. My problem is I have to use a LOT of elevation to get on target @ 100yds. I tried swapping the rings front to back with no effect, and my old scope was centered fine with these same bases. Ant ideas? Thanks for any help, and a great site!

Re: newbie question

your new scope might have more elevation than your last scope, and could have been shipped in the all down position, meaning if you had 80 moa of adjustment you would have to bring it up alot for a zero. Plus is your old base adding any moa to the mix? slanted to help with distance?

Re: newbie question

Standard height bases, and I confirmed the vertical adjustment was in the centered position. Had to come up 28.5 moa from center to be on at 100 yds. P.S.- It's the 4-16x TRS, want to be sure I have plenty of adjustment for long range still.

Re: newbie question

The 20moa should be ok, I have a 24moa base for my scope. Do you know your total adjustment available? 28 from center would be alot to move from center to get to just 100yards. and my rifle is zeroed at 100yards btw.

Re: newbie question

I keep seeing different specs but when I checked the center of the adjustment range, I had a total of 84 moa from stop to stop. Seems off with 28 up from center, but a 20 moa base would be OK. I was just wondering if it was normal

Re: newbie question

I had the same problem when I put on a Burris scope. I maxed out my height and still couldnt get on bull at 100yds. I ended up ordering the Burris rings with the spacers in them that have the ability to raise or lower the front or rear from 5 to 20 thou by exchanging the spacers.

My buddy bought the same scope andhad the same problem. They were both put on rem 700 actions. so yea, could be a common problem. I think I need to just get a 20 moaa base as well...

Re: newbie question

Does Burris offer 30mm Signature ring adjustment shims? Can't find 30mm, only 1" ring shims on their site, and Midways.
