Newbie with dumb ?

I have just purchased a SPS Tactical 700 and I need help with a good 1 piece scope mount and rings. I have a few picked out but also I need help on which rings do I need for that rifle using a 40mm objective scope. Thanks

First off, welcome to the Hide

Depends on buget, but I will recommend Seekins Precision as my 1st choice, Badger Ordnance followed by TPS for rings and bases. Warne makes a very good quality tactical base and rings as well that are inexpensive if your on a budget. As far as rings, you can go with low rings with the 40mm objective. I would also reccomend a 20 MOA canted base, which is available from all the above mfrs for little to no additional cost.

Get the low rings of whatever manufacturer that you are going to go with. With a 40mm obj on the SPS tactical you'll be just fine with lows. Depending on the scope, i.e. a nighforce 3-15 with a 50mm obj, lows will work with that scope on a SPS tactical.

If you want the best...Seekins or Badger. If you want good enough at a great price...Burris XTR rings on an EGW base.
