Gunsmithing Newer Benellis - Floating One on the Carrier

I know this is a bit OT for most here, but I have noticed mention of Benelli sporting guns here from time to time.
Since posting is free, I figured I may as well share this how to guide I made for some others.

Load 2 open bolt and drop one, then chamber?
I've heard it a few times, but not sure how you would actually do it.

Good Posts. I fixed my friends black eagle to float the 4th shell. I have one of the older ones that would do it from the factory. Be careful. I have personally have a game warden check my gun for 4 shells and tell me he knew some would hold 4 with the plug.

Re: Newer Benellis - Floating One on the Carrier

You can just bevel out the prevent cut to do the same thing, Hoser posted that awhile back for me, turned out my HK Benelli M1 didn't need it.

Re: Newer Benellis - Floating One on the Carrier

interseting. not sure I understand what the rear cut does to prevent this to begin with.

for me the 3rd shot is usually in anger. my buddy shoots and O/U and swears by having 2 chokes versus three shots claiming the 3rd is almost always a throw away.

As i was reading i was why doesnt he just tig weld it but you mentioned it.

Re: Newer Benellis - Floating One on the Carrier

If you grind a bevel into that rear notch it effectively allows you to do the same, for those that don't want a chunk of JB weld or something floating around in their gun. (works on M2, not sure on others)
