Looks interesting as well as potentially useful.

Here are the links to this rifle optic system. Apparently this system not only figures a ballistic solution for the exact set of conditions, but is also actually pulls the trigger once the target has been optically confirmed
I imagine most of us will scoff at this but to me it seems forward thinking.

If it pulls the trigger for you then, that takes away from the whole fun or point of shooting!! That's like going to play golf with a club that swings it self!!

Sorry I haven't seen the other discussions. I thought it might be interesting to see if anyone has actually seen this used or what positives and negatives there are might exist. I am not as interested as to the fun vs no challenge issues as I am the thoughts on whether this system really works or not.

It can't calculate for wind or movers and cannot be calibrated for different ammo types. You are looking at a digital screen which will not give you nearly the same clarity as a high end optic.
Sounds like it may allow a soldier who has very limited experience in long range shooting to be reasonably effective in a combat situation, assuming it is actually a durable setup. Otherwise, I don't see a lot of advantages going for it in its current form, especially considering the cost.
